“Mary means Star of the sea, for as mariners are guided to port by the ocean star, so Christians attain to glory through Mary’s maternal intercession.” –St. Thomas Aquinas  Today, we celebrate the memorial of the Name of Mary. How gracious is our God to give us his Mother as our Mother and Intercessor. What child who calls on the name of his loving mother will not be answered? So too, we who call on the name of Mary will receive her maternal care and love as she leads us to her son, Jesus.
