Thought of the Day, November 27, 2015
"The ideal is to live in loving, attentive expectancy." (John of the Cross) The Advent season is a time of stirring up our expectancy. For what? The second coming of Jesus and attentiveness to his coming in the present moment of each day. If we are living in the later expectancy we will be prepared for the former. How attentive am I to the coming of the Lord Jesus into my life in the present moment? How attentive am I to the grace he desires to give me to live in the present moment in relation to him? This is why Advent is important each year, to remind us of the need to remain expectant in hope and joy. The Lord is near.
