Thought of the Day May 3, 2018 Praise of God
God is completely self-sufficient and doesn't need our
praise. However, we need to praise him because as God he deserves all praise
and as creatures our perfection includes the praise of God for all he has done
for us. We would be woefully remiss if we did not praise God. “Blessed be the
God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every
spiritual blessing in the heavens, in Christ, just as he chose us in him before
the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy and immaculate in his
sight, in charity. He has predestined us to adoption as sons, through Jesus
Christ, in himself, according to the purpose of his will for the praise of the
glory of his grace, with which he has gifted us in his beloved Son.” (Eph 1:3-6)
