A. "Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;  and whoever does not take up his cross  and follow after me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.”  Matthew 10:37-
Disciples are those who love Jesus Christ more than they love any other person, including themselves.  Great crowds were traveling with him, and he turned and addressed them,

 "If any one comes to me without hating his father  and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:25-27

Question: What relationship in your life would most compete with your relationship with Jesus Christ?

B. Jesus then said to those Jews who believed in him, "If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples,  and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."  John 8:31-32.
Disciples are those who hold to His teachings no matter what. It is a top priority.
