Thought of the Day October 26, 2020 A true Christian
"It is not what men eat but what they digest that makes them strong; Not what we gain but what we save that makes us rich; not what we read but what we remember that makes us learned; not what we preach but what we practice that makes us Christians."
Being a Christian is not easy today. The world we live in is becoming more secular and pagan with each generation. The practice of our faith in the public arena is being challenged more frequently. Truth is said to be relative not absolute. As Christians, followers of Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior of the world, we are called to stand firm and resolute in living our faith publicly. We do so, not for show, but to remind us of what Jesus has done for us.
There is story about a man going about his community, shooting, "Repent, for the Kingdom of God is near." He did this for several days. One day a little boy asked him why was he shooting such a message. Nobody was listening. The man said that he was not shooting for others to hear, but that he may not forget.
We are called to live our faith in Christ publicly so that we will never forget the mercy of God for us on the cross.
