Thought of the Day December 11, 2020 Advent is year round
"The Lord is coming, always coming. When you have ears to hear and eyes to see, you will recognize him at any moment of your life. Life is Advent; life is recognizing the coming of the Lord." (Henri Nouwen)
Advent is a liturgical season, but it is also meant to be a lifetime attitude and journey. Jesus' coming is not limited to four weeks each year. The liturgical season involves the three comings of Jesus with a special focus on his coming in time as God made flesh. But the remembrance of that coming is to prepare us to be attentive to his coming in the present moment throughout the rest of the year, so that when he comes in glory, we may be expecting him and ready to go with him. Come, Lord Jesus, come!
