Thought of the Day December 8, 2020 Pause in silence
"Advent, this powerful liturgical season that we (have) begun, invites us to pause in silence to understand a presence. It is an invitation to understand that the individual events of the day are hints that God is giving us, signs of the attention he has for each one of us." ({Pope Benedict XVI)
Many of us have a hard time "to pause in silence". Our lives are cluttered with one thing after another. It is like we never catch us. But in that whirlwind style of life we often miss the grace of the moment that God desires to give us. What are the spiritual roses that we fail to see on our daily rush from one thing to the next? What will happen if we began to deliberately pause for a moment or two before the next thing? What would a sincere prayer do for us? Will we really lose much if we took a moment "to pause in silence"?
