"Let everything whatsoever that you do, whether in word or in deed, be done all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through him." (Colossians 3:17)

This is one of my favorite resolutions from the Word of God. It encompasses the admonition of Jesus to love one another as he has loved us. Think about it. If I can't do or say something in the name of Jesus, then I will not be loving. But when Jesus is the measure of my words and deeds, then I am acting in union with the will of God, which is love. God has a way of simplifying our lives after the fall of Adam and Eve. When we don't follow Paul's admonition, then our complicated lives become overwhelming and unmanageable.
