Thought of the Day May 4, 2021 Glory of God seen in his works
Besides deserving of all glory because of who he is, God also is
deserving of all glory for his mighty works, flowing from his love. The
uncreated Spirit has created all things, both animate and inanimate, things
seen and things unseen, things known by us and those still waiting to be known.
The vastness of creation along with the minute detail of creation continues to
amaze us; its beauty and order, its power and its simplicity seem
incomprehensible and hard to be contained in our limited human mind.
The world of creation, as magnificent as it is, is nothing in comparison to the work of recreation which is brought about by the incarnation of the Son of God, his death on the cross and his resurrection from the dead. Can anyone begin to understand the depth of God’s love in this work of redemption and restoration, even when we freely choose to sin in spite of what God has done for us? His work doesn’t end with creation and our re-creation, God chooses to share his own divine life with us. He does this so that we may live eternally with him, sharing in his glory. Is it a wonder that the saints in heaven are singing this song to the Lord? “Great and wondrous are your works, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are your ways, King of all ages” (Rev 15: 3). In gratitude and in anticipation we should join in giving glory to God.
