Thought of the Day May 7, 2021 Doing the will of God glorifies him
In line with doing the will of
God as our way of glorifying God, Jesus tells us: “In this, my Father is
glorified: that you should bring forth very much fruit and become my disciples”
(John 15:8). When we follow Jesus as
true disciples, learning from him how to please the Father in all things, then
we are glorifying God. When we act on the command of Jesus to love one another
as he has loved us, then we will be glorifying God. This is one of the fruits
of our relationship with Jesus. When we embrace the daily crosses in our lives
without complaining, then we are following in the footsteps of Jesus, Our Lord
and Master. For our salvation Jesus endured the cross of humiliation, setting
an example for us. In this he glorified the Father; in this we will also
glorify the Father. How attentive are we in trying to glorify God during the
day? It is his right and our duty to glorify God in our lives.
