“The LORD, your God, is in your midst, a mighty savior, who will rejoice over you with gladness, and renew you in his love, who will sing joyfully because of you, as on festival days” (Zephaniah 3:17-18)

How often we need to remind ourselves that the Lord delights in us. Why does he delight in us? He sees what we do not see. He sees us as someone he freely chose to create in his own image and likeness. He sees our goodness. He sees us as someone he freely chose to give his life, so that we can share in his life. He sees us as someone he desires to dwell with him forever. In other words, God delights in us because, as Love, he loves us and wants us to be truly happy, not just here but eternally.  He delights in us because he sees what no one else can see, the fullness of our potential. He delights in helping us achieve that potential for our sake. That potential is our destiny: to be one with him eternally. As he delights in us so we should delight in him.
