Thought of the Day June 16, 2021 Be joyful
“Let
the brothers ever avoid appearing gloomy, sad, and clouded, like the
hypocrites; but let one ever be found joyous in the Lord, amiable, gracious” (St.
Francis of Assisi).
No
one wants to be associated with people who are always negative, unhappy and
going through life with a sense of drudgery. We enjoy, rather, being with
people who evidence a “joie de vive”, the joy of life. Isn’t that true? Look at
the people you prefer to be around. Vinegar doesn’t attract, but honey does. If
we want to be a witness for Jesus, witness his joy and see the difference it
will make, both in you and in others. As Jesus said, let your good deeds shine before others so that they may give glory to God. Let it begin with a sincere smile in your heart and on your face.
