Thought of the Day August 9, 2022 Two paths
"I am not capable of doing big things, but I want to do everything, even the smallest things, for the greater glory of God." (St. Dominic)
This seems to be one of the consistent teachings of many of the saints. The world, the flesh and the devil try to entice us to seek to do always the greater things, to never being satisfied until we have achieved this goal. This road is broad and leads to destruction. The saints (following the example of the Lord) teach us the narrow way that leads to eternal life with God. It is doing everything for the "greater glory of God", or as St. Therese taught: the little way of love. Many have sought to conquer the word, never satisfied, but always wanting more territory, more power, more treasures. To what end? They failed to realize that when they die, none of this will matter. Many have walked the path of seeking the will of God and doing all in love. Their heart was centered in God, who was their treasure. The two paths of life. Which will we choose?
