Often times in giving retreats I begin by asking the retreatants to do a time line of their lives. I ask them to draw a line across a page. Above the line diagonally write a blessing from the Lord and below the line write diagonally your response. How many signs of God's love come to mind? As you review your life you begin to grasp the enormity of God's love for you and the many times we took his love for granted. This rereading of one's life is a powerful tool to keep our focus on God and learning how he moves in our life. The saying that God writes straight lines with our curves.
