How prepared are we for the end times? We don't know the day or hour, but we have been urged by Jesus to stay prepared and alert. The end time for me may not be the end of the world, but the end of my life in this world. How prepared am I? What does that preparation entail? There are many examples in the Gospels. We are to keep our wedding garment given to us in Baptism unstained. We are to have our light burning so that like the parable of the ten virgins, we may like the wise enter into the banquet with the Lord. We need to be the sheep on the right of the Lord who have loved the least.  We need be the ones who not only profess Jesus as Lord, but do the will of the Father. We need to be the ones who hear the Word of God and act on it. In another words, we need to live in such a way that when we die, we are in union with God, sharing his divine life, given to us in Baptism and nourished in Eucharist. We do not earn heaven. We respond to the grace given to us.
