John the Baptist identified the Messiah as the one who would baptize with fire and the Holy Spirit. On the Day of Pentecost tongues of fire were seen descending on all present. They were all fill with the Holy Spirit. Paul tells Timothy to stir into the flame the gift of the Holy Spirit. Fire illuminates, warms, purifies and can change things from one form to another form. We need the fire of the Holy Spirit to give us clarity and light into the mysteries of God. We need the warmth of the Holy Spirit's grace each day. We need the purifying fire of the Holy Spirit to remove the dross of sin and impurities from our life. We need the fire of the Holy Spirit to change us from being an earthly creature to become a spiritual son or daughter of God. Pray for the fire of the Holy Spirit as you prepare for a new Pentecost in your life. Come, Holy Spirit, come.
