Jesus tells us that the Holy Spirit will be with us, in us and upon us. He is with  us as our Advocate and our teacher. He speaks to us in the Scriptures, leading us all truth. He is within us as the Giver of Life. As adopted sons and daughters we share in the divine life of God. We are Temples of the Holy Spirit, who dwells in  us. He is upon us as our anointer, filling us with all the gifts we need as witnesses of Jesus Christ to others. How are we to respond?  First, we are called to be attentive to the presence and lead of the Holy Spirit. Second, we are to do nothing to sadden the Holy Spirit, namely, avoiding any sin that would separate us from God. Third, we are to be ready to act on the grace of the Spirit who calls us to respond to his divine appointments. Come, Holy Spirit, come!
