Each of us come into the world with an IOU. It is one that we will never be able to pay off, but the more we do, the more meaningful our life will be. What is that IOU? Paul tells us: "Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another.? (Rom 13:8) Because God has and is loving us, we are commanded by him to love God with our whole being and to love one another as he has loved us. Sounds simple? Why then do we find it hard to love? Why then must God command us to love? Paul reminds us of the Law of sin within us and the reality of debt we have because of God's free love. For when we die, God will show us our balance sheet and ask: "Did you love?"
