Thought of the Day January 9, 2024 Salvation important?
Georges Bernanos, the great French writer and author of Diary of a Country Priest, once said: “I never forget that my greatest and all-transcending priority is my salvation.” And so as Christians, let us affirm this truth.
Is this your greatest priority? If not, the death and resurrection of Jesus has not fully transformed your life. It remains a mere past historical event with no personal relevance. For if my salvation was most impotent to Jesus, but not to me, then I wasted his time. It is only in making this grace of salvation my top priority that I can express my deepest gratitude to Jesus for giving his life for my life. The greatest tragedy is not to die in relationship with God, not to be eternally saved.
