Thought of the Day April 29, 2024 Easter: I am the resurrection and the life
“I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die." This passage was spoken by Jesus to Martha, before he raised Lazarus back to human life. In a wider context, it is said in preparation of his own resurrection to a glorified body. Lazarus was raised up for a brief time only to die later. Jesus was raised up never to die again. When we die in Christ, though our body is buried, we will rise to eternal life with God. Death does not finalize life. Life continues eternally. When Jesus comes back in glory, there will a resurrection of bodies. The question we have to aske ourselves is twofold. When I die, will I die in Christ?. When my body is raised up, will I be with God with a glorified body? The answer will depend on how we live each present moment of our lives, especially the last moment.
