This is the consistent message of many of the saints. It is the fundamental road to holiness and union with God. For what God wills for us is that we fulfill our destiny, being forever with him. His will in our life is the narrow road to eternal life. There is a rebellion within us as a result of Original sin. The rebellion is to seek our will over the will of God, as if we know what is best for us. This, like Adam and Eve, will lead us to separation from God. Living in his will, as difficult as that may be, is the purification of our inner rebellion. If we focus on God’s love, we will seek to unite our wills to his.
