Sometimes we do the first part of that statement well, maybe too well. But we forget the real fruitfulness of our endeavors is the result of what God does. Where do we get the ability and the strength, the intellectual awareness and the clarity to deal with details? Did not our gifts come from God and all we are doing is using the gifts to accomplish his work? I am only the ant on top of the elephant. I don’t trample the underbrush. I ride on the shoulders of the elephant. All I am doing is my little part in the greater scheme of God’s plan. He accomplishes all in all.
