These trials, at times, are in our lives to purify us and bring us into a deeper union with the sufferings of Jesus for our sake. We don’t have to ask for trials, but be willing to accept and embrace the trials that come. Listen to the words of St. Peter. “In this you rejoice, although now for a little while you may have to suffer through various trials, so that the genuineness of your faith, more precious than gold that is perishable even though tested by fire, may prove to be for praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:6-7) Stand firm and keep your eyes on the suffering of Jesus.
