What is this based on? It is the fact of our faith that we belong to the Lord. Since we belong to the Lord, all that we are, have and will be, should be his. Even though this is a fact of faith, it is not always a fact in our lived reality, especially when we sin. We withhold from Jesus, our Lord, what is his by right. We also use what is his for our own gain, like the unjust steward in the Gospel. Honestly ask yourself where Jesus is not fully the Lord of your life? What have your hoarded for yourself, because you do not trust Jesus? Repent. Return to the Lord all that is his. Surrender to him. He will give you even more than you can imagine.
