But do not forget, that all the Saints cannot endear you to Christ as much as you can yourself. It is entirely up to you!” St. Cajetan (1480-1547)

Jesus has saved us without our help, but we must respond to this grace of salvation, that’s our part. The Saints act as models and intercessors for us, showing us the path they travelled. But we have to travel the road ourselves, yes with their help and God’s grace. It is this latter factor that was missing in those who never reached the final intended destiny with God. They failed to respond to the grace of salvation sufficiently and consistently as a way of owning their faith. They received a paid airplane ticket, but they never took the flight. They were too busy sightseeing on side trips and missed their flight.
