The desire to live a hidden life is so that we do not draw attention to ourselves but to Jesus. While in our life time, not too many people are aware of our journey with Christ, Jesus is aware and blesses it. That’s what really counts. Out joy is to give glory to God, while remaining unknown and unrecognized, to live in the shadow of Jesus. Mary is our model. Even though God had privileged her with extraordinary blessings, she remained in the background. The focus for her was Jesus, not herself. Her appearances during her Son’s ministry were miniscule. Yet, she played an important role in the history of salvation. In all humility, seek to be in the background, in a way that Jesus is always front and center.
