Thought of the Day September 30, 2024 Grace

By 10:00 AM

“It is not enough for me that God has given me grace once, but He must give it always. I ask, that I may receive; and when I have received, I ask again. I am covetous of receiving God's bounty. He is never slow in giving, nor am I ever weary of receiving. The more I drink, the more thirsty I become.” St. Jerome (+420)

Praise God! The well of his grace never runs dry. It is free, but I must be receptive. He never forces his grace on anyone. Grace emanates from God, like the rays of the sun. The greater my receptivity, the more grace I can receive. The more grace I receive and respond to, the more I will be drawn closer to God in love. He shares his Divine Life with us and he gives us the help we need to remain in union with him. God is the initiator and the end. We are always the receiver, the beneficiary, and the responder. I pray, Lord, that I will always be open to your grace.
