“You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely." Psalm 59: 17

What would our life be without God? That would be a life of being on our own for everything, a life of spiritual darkness, a life falling short of our destiny, a life forfeiting our eternal inheritance, a life of selfishness and of unfulfillment. But praise God for his fidelity to us, his everlasting love, his grace that gives us strength, reminding us of who we are and whose we are, why we are and where we are meant to be. Thus, we can choose a life with God or a life away from God. We can choose to depend on him or to depend solely on ourselves and others. It was the choice Joshua put before the Israelites. The decisions we make throughout our day will reflect our choice. "For me and my household, we will serve the Lord."
