Thought of the Day March 12, 2025 Forgiveness
Psalms 6:8 My eye has been troubled by rage. I have grown old among all my enemies.
Here, David may be referring to the rebellion of his own
son, who sought the throne of David by force. How this must have pained the
kingly father. Have we experienced a friendship gone sour? Have we been hurt by
the actions of a friend? David did not want revenge or the death of Absalom. In
fact, when the son was killed, David wept bitterly. Do we forgive our friend?
Do we desire the best for him? Jesus was betrayed by two friends, both of whom
he reached out to without bitterness or wishing the worse for them. Can we do
the same?
