Psalms 6:9-10 “Scatter before me, all you who work iniquity, for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping. The Lord has heard my supplication. The Lord has accepted my prayer.”

While we seek to respond to the grace of repentance, the Devil, our enemy, seeks to sow seeds of doubt. In faith, we know that God seeks our conversion and our turning away from sin. The Devil continues to taunt us with temptation to remain in sin. The psalmist praises God for his faithfulness to his promises in response. The Devil waits another time. We need to recall the words of St. John: “He who is within us is greater than he who outside.” The Lord is on our side. The Devil is our enemy. Stand firm with the Lord, who will fight the battle.
