Thought of the Day March 27, 2025 We give you thanks
Psalms 31:11 Rejoice in the Lord and exult, you just ones, and glory, all you upright of heart.
The Psalmist began by realizing how blessed he was for God’s
merciful forgiveness of his many sins. Now he ends by praising God and joining
with others so forgiven to glorify God. It is one thing to ask God to show his
mercy. It is another to thank God for his everlasting compassionate love, shone
us through reconciliation. Isn’t this one of the reasons we gather to give
thanks to God each Sunday in the Eucharist? We remember the death and
resurrection of Jesus, saving us from eternal alienation from God and we offer
the sacrifice of thanksgiving to God, not just as an individual but with others
so redeemed. Thank you, Lord!
